«Samruk-Kazyna» Fund and the Ministry of health of the Republic of Kazakhstan signed a Memorandum of cooperation. The signing ceremony was attended by Chairman of the Board of the Fund Akhmetzhan Yessimov and Minister of health of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alexey Tsoi.

Within the framework of the Memorandum, the national welfare Fund "Samruk-Kazyna" purchased and began transferring to the Ministry of health of the Republic of Kazakhstan 100 ambulances, 1000 units of oxygen concentrators, 50 artificial ventilation devices, 1000 pulse oximeters and 3000 Avifavir antiviral drugs. These aid items were selected in consultation with the Ministry of health as the most scarce.

"All these measures are supported by President Tokayev Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich. As you know, a meeting with Elbasy took place recently, where he gave instructions to allocate funds from the internal reserves of the Fund for the construction of two medical centers in the cities of Nur-Sultan and Almaty. These centers will be designed not only to provide medical services to the population, but also to consolidate research capacity. We have already started this work and reserved funds, " Akhmetzhan Yessimov said.

In conclusion, the head of the Fund asked the Ministry of health to expedite the preparation of technical specifications for medical centers, and governors of these cities to provide land with appropriate communications.

"On behalf of the Ministry of health of Kazakhstan, allow me to express my gratitude to the Fund for its’ corporate social responsibility, and promotion of the strengthening of national health systems in dealing with outbreaks of infectious diseases, including coronavirus. I am sure that the Memorandum will allow us to take timely and necessary measures to respond to the existing epidemiological threats, " Alexey Tsoi said.

«Avifavir» is one of two drugs against coronavirus in the world, which has already confirmed its effectiveness in clinical trials. Fund "Samruk-Kazyna" purchased the drug for the treatment of coronavirus from JSC "Management company of the Russian direct investment Fund".

During an online conference with JSC "Management company of the Russian direct investment Fund", which is the developer of the drug, Akhmetzhan Yessimov thanked its head Kirill Dmitriev for the opportunity to purchase these drugs.

We remind that the «Samruk-Kazyna» Fund has been actively involved in the fight against coronavirus since the first days of the emergency. In accordance with the instructions of the President, the Fund will finance the construction of two clinics for the prevention and control of infectious diseases in the cities of Nur-Sultan and Almaty. In March this year, the Fund financed the purchase of 6 million protective masks for doctors, police officers and social workers, as well as took a set of measures to strengthen economic growth, support domestic producers and develop the health sector.
