A Remebot RM-200 robotic system for high-precision neurosurgical operations will be installed at the Mother and Child Center in Ust-Kamenogorsk by the end of the year. The East Kazakhstan Region Akimat reports that this equipment will expand medical care capabilities for children from the East Kazakhstan, Abai, and Pavlodar regions.

During a working visit to the region, Nurlan Zhakupov, Chairman of the Board of JSC "Samruk-Kazyna," handed over the delivery certificate for the equipment, valued at over 433 million KZT, to the Center today. The system is being acquired through the Samruk-Kazyna Trust Foundation as part of the group’s corporate charitable activities.

Currently, the Center provides specialized neurosurgical care to pediatric patients from all three regions. Emergency and elective surgeries are performed in a specialized 22-bed department. Over the past three years, specialists here have also conducted surgical treatment for severe forms of epilepsy using VNS therapy, completing 33 operations to date.

The next stage in the development of the department involves the integration of robotic neurosurgery. The Remebot RM-200 generates 3D models of the brain, allows surgeons to plan interventions in advance, and guides surgical tools along exact trajectories with submillimeter precision. It will be utilized for surgeries targeting drug-resistant epilepsy, minimally invasive tumor biopsies, and other complex procedures.

Today, the Center's specialists already treat children from three regions, perform intricate surgeries, and implement advanced treatment techniques. The new equipment will scale up these capabilities and introduce technologies that were previously unavailable locally. Our objective is to consistently enhance medical infrastructure, equip facilities with state-of-the-art technology, and foster professional growth for our doctors. It is essential that children from East Kazakhstan, Abai, and Pavlodar regions receive high-tech care here in Ust-Kamenogorsk," stated Nurymbet Saktaganov, Akim of East Kazakhstan Region.

The ongoing development of the Mother and Child Center is supported by the regional akimat, healthcare authorities, the medical institution, and its partners. The deployment of the Remebot system, funded by JSC "Samruk-Kazyna," marks another significant step toward bringing complex neurosurgical procedures directly to the region's children.
