Project geography: Republic of Kazakhstan
Brief description: the Project is aimed at providing free rehabilitation assistance to children diagnosed with cerebral palsy and other disorders of the musculoskeletal system by organizing rehabilitation courses for orphans, children left without parental care, from incomplete, low-income and large families.
Free rehabilitation centres for children diagnosed with cerebral palsy from socially vulnerable segments of the population. There are more than 19 000 children with cerebral palsy in Kazakhstan. Unfortunately, in connection with the queues, only 20% of them can pass a rehabilitation and only 1 time a year.
The largest proportion of children with neuro orthopedic disorders was registered in the Northern, Western and southern regions of Kazakhstan. The project "the Future of the nation-healthy children" is aimed at helping children of this category.
With the support of JSC "Samruk-Kazyna" in 2014 in Astana opened a rehabilitation center at the city children's hospital №2, this year funded two more existing rehabilitation centers in Atyrau and Zhanaozen.
The center in Astana operates on an outpatient basis. Visiting children and their accompanying persons receive free hospital accommodation with round-the-clock medical supervision and meals during the rehabilitation course. The rehabilitation services include the services of doctors, physical therapy instructors, special teachers and psychologists, physiotherapy and massage, occupational therapy. The team is headed by experienced physiotherapists Nurkhozhayeva A. M.
The center is equipped with the best rehabilitation equipment, it has a well-coordinated multidisciplinary professional team of specialists with modern methods of rehabilitation. Every year the center hosts 12 races for 20-25 children. The rehabilitation course lasts 21 days. Thus, the center rehabilitates more than 240 children a year.
Since 2016, the geography of the Healthy children project has expanded to the Western region: Atyrau region and Zhanaozen city. The existing rehabilitation centers received charitable assistance of about 17 and 9 million tenge, respectively, to provide free qualified medical, pedagogical, psychological rehabilitation for children from socially vulnerable segments of the population. Every year, three centers allow rehabilitation for more than 700 children with disabilities.
Samruk-Kazyna Trust's participation in the project is due to the lack of rehabilitation centers in the country (as of January 1, 2017, there are 12 rehabilitation centers in the country, about 20,000 children with cerebral palsy are registered), while the state allocates only 5740 quotas.
The results of the project for 2018:

2) 392 children were rehabilitated in the perinatal center "Balapan" in Astana, 30 children are rehabilitated;
